The More Alamo the Better
Alamo Drafthouse in Las Colinas keeps Toyota Music Factory openings rolling
Almost four years after it was first announced, Alamo Drafhouse Las Colinas will finally open its doors for a grand opening on May 1. The debut follows soon after the opening of Alamo Drafthouse Lake Highlands and the official grand opening of Toyota Music Factory, where the new theater is located.
The theater is Alamo Drafthouse DFW's fourth location to open in the area, one that will be followed by a location in Denton later this year and one in North Richland Hills in 2019. As always, it features the theater chain’s signature mix of first-run films and curated specialty programming, an extensive made-from-scratch food and beverage menu, and luxury recliner seating throughout every auditorium.
One perk specific to this location is that visitors will have a direct view of Toyota Music Factory’s performance stages from the theater’s bar, Vetted Well. Also, the theme of the theater's lobby and walkways will honor filmmaker John Carpenter, something that fits in with the chain's aesthetic and pokes a bit of fun at the location near John W. Carpenter Freeway, which was named for a Texas businessman and agriculturalist.
During staff training days, running April 17-30, ahead of the official opening date, guests can enjoy discounted food and non-alcoholic drinks. The grand opening will be just in time for summer movie season, featuring big films like Avengers: Infinity War and Deadpool 2. And to keep the John Carpenter theme going, the theater will open with a month-long John Carpenter retrospective.
The location's seven auditoriums range in size from 28 to 151 seats, with combined seating for 712 moviegoers. Validated parking will be available for guests parking in the Texas Music Center parking garage.
