Addison Restaurant Glory
Addison hot spot makes the cut on America’s 100 top places to eat 2016
One local restaurant rises above the others — at least if you believe what you read on Yelp. The site recently unveiled its top 100 places to eat in America for 2016, the annual bucket list based on the number of positive reviews from Yelp users around the country, and Kenny’s Wood Fired Grill in Addison made it.
Normally we would treat Yelpers’ opinions with skepticism — and there are several local restaurateurs who’ve taken issue with them in the past — but Yelp upped the ante this year and combed through more than a decade’s worth of reviews to determine the 100 top restaurants for 2016. (The 2015 list was based on reviews from only that year.)
So, A+ for effort. According to the site, these restaurants have earned the status of “must try within this lifetime.”
Kenny Bowers’ upscale grill lands at No. 48. One look at the restaurant’s Yelp page shows users’ ooey, gooey reviews. “For sides, the asparagus is grilled to perfection,” writes one. “On another visit, I sampled the ribs, which were tender to the point of needing only a fork (a spoon could have worked for that matter) to consume each luscious bite,” writes another.
Four other Texas restaurants made this year’s list: three in Austin — Franklin Barbecue (No. 8), Uchi (No. 59), and Uchiko (No. 97) — and Chama Gaúcha Brazilian Steakhouse (No. 75) in Houston.
