New boutique hotel opening in Uptown Dallas piles up the perks
There's a new boutique hotel coming to Uptown Dallas that'll channel the art and spirit of the neighborhood. Opening at 2950 Cityplace W. Blvd., in the space that used to be a golf practice range, Canopy Dallas | Uptown is being developed by Canopy by Hilton and The Javelin Group, and is part of a new chain by Hilton hotels.
Aimbridge Hospitality, which will manage operations, currently has the opening date as January 2018; but the earliest date for which you can make a reservation is June 19, 2018.
The hotel is located at the intersection of Cityplace West and Oak Grove, and will be one more component of Cityplace. It has 150 rooms and will feature a restaurant serving local cuisine and a rooftop bar.
Canopy was founded in 2014. The first location opened in Washington, D.C., and the chain just opened another in Iceland. Each Canopy is different, reflecting the neighborhood.
Features at the Dallas branch will include their "Just-Right Rooms," which have a local vibe with Uptown-inspired artwork, nods to Dallas' M-Line Trolley, and residential comforts like free WiFi, a 55-inch TV, built-in fridge drawer, and beds designed exclusively for Canopy.
Suites offer a separate living area, balcony, and cozy extras like bathrobes and Canopy socks. You can get a trippy peek of the rooms here.
The chain is pet-friendly, and every floor has a filtered spring water station.
Perks include a complimentary "artisanal" breakfast in Canopy Central, the hotel's European-style cafe, or you can get a breakfast bag delivered to your door. There are complimentary tastings of local beers and spirits each night, and a 24-hour fitness center.
There are complimentary bicycles, and the hotel is a quick walk to M-Line Trolley and DART Rail, not to mention shopping destinations like the West Village.
All of the event spaces are located on the top floor, affording floor-to-ceiling windows and skyline views to your board meeting or wedding reception.
