Dwell with Dignity's beloved Thrift Studio will welcome an all-star cast of interior designers for its 2020 pop-up shop fundraiser.
The spring shopping event will return for its 11th edition, April 2-May 2 at The International at Turtle Creek, the nonprofit announced in a release. As always, it will feature luxury home furnishings and original artwork by local artists (not yet announced), beautifully displayed in vignettes created by nine prestigious interior designers and firms.
They are:

- Mia Brous and Kerri Farb of Madre Dallas
- Monica Wilcox of Monica Wilcox Design
- Morgan Farrow of Morgan Farrow Interiors
- Josh Pickering of Pickering House Interiors
- Twelve Twenty
- Lindley Whisenant Arthur of Lindley Arthur Interiors
- Anna Curnes, Melissa Ellis, Annie Griffeth, and Christi Meril of ALG Collective
Everything on display will be available for shoppers to purchase at deep discounts, with 100 percent of proceeds benefiting Dwell with Dignity. DwD's mission is to provide low-income families and their new permanent housing with furniture, bedding, kitchen supplies, art, professional interior styling, food in the pantry and their first night’s meal. Thrift Studio is the organization's largest annual fundraiser.
Shay Geyer, award-winning owner of IBB Design and founder of The Shay Geyer Fabric Collection, serves as the event's honorary chair this year; ALG Collective’s four artists (above) serve as art co-chairs.
“Dwell with Dignity holds a place near and dear to my heart," Geyer says in a release. "It is life changing for me to be able to help transform a life through design, to provide a place where someone is proud to live, to feel safe, to be able to thrive, to call home.”
Before the pop-up store opens in April, a series of celebratory parties will kick off the big event.
Kickoff Party: 6-8 pm February 6 at Cantoni Trade, 960 Dragon St., Dallas. A celebration announcing the 2020 Thrift Studio Designers with complimentary drinks and light bites, including craft beer provided by Pegasus City Brewery. Valet parking available. Art & Color Party: 6-9 pm February 20 at ALG Collective, 1302 Dragon St., Dallas. A celebration announcing the 2020 Thrift Studio Artists with complimentary drinks and light bites. Valet parking available. Free and open to the public. This event coincides with the Dragon Street Galleries Third Thursday Art Walk. No RSVP necessary.
Opening Night Preview Party: 6-9 pm April 1 at The International at Turtle Creek, 150 Turtle Creek Blvd., Suite 209 A, Dallas. The event features cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and the first chance to shop the Thrift Studio. General admission tickets are $125, or $175 for a VIP ticket that includes shopping between 6-7 pm and an elevated culinary and mixology experience. The Thrift Studio, itself, will be free to enter and open 10 am-5 pm Monday through Saturday, starting April 2.
“Thrift Studio is a very important event for Dwell with Dignity, raising approximately 40 percent of our annual funding,” says Dwell with Dignity Executive Director Ashley Agnew. “To date, we have helped over 180 families transform their lives through design. This transformation sets the stage for breaking the cycle of poverty and helps set up future generations for success."
