Jared Leto just won an Oscar for his stunning portrayal of a transgender woman with HIV in Dallas Buyers Club, but his real passion is music. So his Texas fans are sure to be excited at Tuesday's announcement that his band, Thirty Seconds to Mars, will team with rock bands Linkin Park and AFI for one of the summer's most anticipated concerts.
"The Carnivores Tour," which kicks off August 8 in West Palm Beach, will stop at Gexa Energy Pavilion in Dallas on September 6.
During a live multi-media press conference in Los Angeles, Linkin Park co-lead singer Mike Shinoda explained the unusual name of the tour. "Carnivores is a metaphor that is meant to convey an appetite for something visceral and substantive, and I feel that’s exactly the hunger this tour will feed," he said.
"We are so excited to join our friends on this epic journey. It's going to be the adventure of a lifetime," Leto said.Dallas Buyers Clubwas Leto's first movie in six years, as he has concentrated on his music and touring with his band.
