In preparation for LaunchAbility’s A Special Evening with Smokey Robinson, the group held an exclusive sponsor party at the home of event chairs Piper and Mike Wyatt.
There was mixing and mingling, of course. But perhaps most important, this year’s award winners were introduced. For the first time, LaunchAbility will honor co-recipients with the Milton P. Levy Jr. Outstanding Volunteer Award, the nonprofit’s highest honor for individuals: Sharon Herrin and Roy Pendergrass.
Guests — including Lynn McBee, Cecily and Scott Gooch, Cara and Jim French, Anne Stodghill, Nancy Gopez, Brad Oldham, and Max and Ben Trowbridge — honored the duo for their leadership in the community and support of LaunchAbility’s mission to build independence for children and adults with disabilities.
Additionally, AT&T will receive the Alliance Data Corporate Champion Award for the company’s support of LaunchAbility and disability employment. All winners will be honored again at the March 31 main event at the Meyerson Symphony Center.
LaunchAbility’s early childhood intervention program provides teams of therapists and specialists to work with babies and toddlers with developmental disabilities and delays to give them a greater chance for success in school and life.
