More details are emerging from students and law enforcement at Lone Star College Cy-Fair, where a Tuesday stabbing spree left a total of 14 people injured.

Authorities have charged Dylan Quick, a 20-year-old student, with three counts of aggravated assault in the rampage. Although a second accomplice was reported earlier in the day, video surveillance now suggests that only one perpetrator was involved in the seemingly random attack at the school's Health Sciences Building.

Of the 14 victims, two are in critical condition. Four of the other more seriously hurt victims remain stable.

The entire campus was closed on Tuesday to allow investigators to gather evidence. Classes resumed on Wednesday as scheduled.

Lone Star communications student Michael Chalfan, 22, happened upon the scene Tuesday morning as he walked down the hall of the science building around 11:15 a.m. "The first thing I saw was the suspect charging towards me," he said. "[Police] tasered him and tackled him on the ground. My friend took a picture of him, and I realized I had a class with him."

Chalfan said he knew the suspect from a drama class the two had taken together a year ago. Chalfan believes Quick used a box cutter or X-Acto knife to attack students. In the chaotic aftermath, he reported seeing a woman who still had a blade stuck in her cheek.

"He was an eccentric kid, so a lot of people thought he was weird," Chalflan explained, adding that students sometimes would make fun of the suspect behind his back. "He was always in his own little world but was super friendly."

The suspect, who was rumored to be hard of hearing, was known for his odd clothes and the pair of work-out gloves he'd always wear, according to Chalfan. He was often seen carrying a stuffed monkey toy.
