Philanthropists prove they have the moves at 9th annual Moonlight Ball

We don’t often see a crowd of our city’s movers and shakers cutting a rug. But they proved they’ve got the moves at Moonlight Ball benefiting the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas.

 

More than 200 supporters brought their dancing shoes — and charitable wallets — to the Brook Hollow Golf Club for the ninth annual black tie affair, just a few weeks after the Young Friends of Ronald McDonald House partied at the DMA.

 

Decked-out attendees indulged in cocktails before making their grand entrance into the ballroom filled with orange and fuchsia roses, hydrangeas, and lilies, courtesy of Junior Villanueva of Garden Gate, that (almost) outshone the ladies’ sparkling jewels and glamorous gowns.

 

But the gala really started to rock when the BulletProof Brass band hit the stage. A decadent meal — beef, sea bass, and Bailey’s molten cake served with caramel ice cream — hardly slowed down the dancing action.

 

We’re still waiting to hear about the total funds raised and look forward to seeing RMD CEO Jill Cumnock and husband Kris, honorary chairs Lauri and Mike Hainsfurther, Steve Utley, Susan Palma, Joey Hainsfurther, Vera and Tony Bangs, Carol and Daniel Podolsky, and Pam and Vin Perella back on the dance floor next year.

 

“What an honor Steve and I have had helping the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas with the Moonlight Ball,” said co-chair Melissa Utley. “We appreciate our supporters for their tremendous gifts that help families who stay at the house during a trying time in their lives with an ill or injured child.”
