The Happiest Hour
Wilkinson Center kicks off Can Do Luncheon with cocktails and couture
Happy hour at Tootsies always draws a crowd of well-heeled philanthropists. The elegant boutique, which often hosts charitable fetes, set the scene for the Wilkinson Center kick-off party for the upcoming inaugural Can Do Luncheon.
The Wilkinson Center is the leading poverty rescue and prevention agency for the working poor, providing empowerment and essentials to help its clients become self-sufficient. It serves more than 14,000 people annually, mainly in east and southeast Dallas.
Stylish devotees — including luncheon chair Joan Eleazer, Lindsey Collins, Haley Nielson, Kristen Johnson, Anita Sabinske, Beth Yablon, Melanie Myers, Sally Wheeler and Ryan Sadkin — sipped on cocktails as models donning Tootsies fashions cruised through the crowd.
But happy hour for these folks also meant recognizing generous honorees Ellen and John McStay for their dedication to giving back, supporting the Wilkinson Center and their "can do" attitude toward making a difference in the community.
Attendees chatted about the unique invitation — emblazoned with an Andy-Warhol inspired design — and the great expectations for the first-ever fundraiser. You can still purchase tickets for the Can Do Luncheon, which takes place May 21 at Dallas Country Club.
