Every social butterfly knows it's never too early to celebrate an upcoming fete. A little rain didn't stop Celebrity Waiter Luncheon devotees from gathering in the Museum Tower penthouse for a sexy kickoff party hosted by sisters Courtney and Allison Edwards.
Decked in chic sheaths and suits, attendees — last year's co-chairs Maggie Kipp and Shay Geyer, Holly Forsythe, Hamilton Sneed, Stacy Girard, Regina Bruce, and this year's co-chairs Jamie Singer and Lindsay Jacaman — sipped on vino and noshed on small bites while admiring the city's expansive views.
Distracting us from the storm was Jill Herz, board chair of luncheon beneficiary Family Gateway, who talked about the agency’s dream of ending child homelessness in Dallas by 2017.
While perusing the sleek space we heard lots of chatter about the fabulous new venue for this year's fall luncheon: the Joule hotel in downtown Dallas. Singer and Jacaman told us they wanted to shake things up a bit with a more intimate setting and a greater focus on the beneficiary.
Don't worry, though. The daytime affair is still expected to be as festive as usual, with celebrity hosts entertaining guests every table.
"It's not just a lunch. It's a full day of events," Singer said.
We're anxiously waiting to hear which local celebs will be participating. Until then, we've got September 6 marked on our calendars.
