More Than a Hair Salon
New Uptown salon provides one-stop beauty shop for Dallas babes
Local hairstylist Blaine David Schlaudt has opened the doors to a new Uptown salon, appropriately named Blaine’s Dallas. The prime location on McKinney Avenue is right across the street from Bread Winners Cafe and Bakery.
The full-service salon offers the services you expect — blowouts, haircuts and color, and makeup bar — but Dallas gals can also partake in teeth whitening, botanical air brush tans, Botox and lip enhancers. Talk about a one-stop shop for looking and feeling your best. Did we mention that there is valet? It's the little things, you know.
"Our new salon is the only shop in town where you can plump up your lips as your color processes," says owner Blaine David Schlaudt.
"Our new salon is the only shop in town where you can plump up your lips as your color processes," Schlaudt says. "What's not to love when you can stop in for a trim and stay for hours getting the works: blowout, makeup, spray tan and more — all in one trip."
Blaine’s beauty director, Tiffiny Luong, is a world-renowned makeup artist who has worked with A-list celebrities such as Ivanka Trump, Khloe Kardashian, Lala Anthony, Miss America and Miss USA. Luong uses the Motives by Loren Ridinger makeup line to transform your look from ordinary to outstanding.
Rick Janecek, who recently served as creative director of Neiman Marcus in New York City, put together the effortlessly chic décor. The patterns, fabrics and furniture complement the colors of Blaine’s signature hair care line — which is proudly displaced throughout the store, of course. (We like the root powder, which gives otherwise lifeless locks a jolt of volume.)
Formerly in University Park, Schlaudt has more than 28 years of experience in the beauty biz. And one of his celebrity clients is the mouthy Joan Rivers. Anyone who can please her must have sheers more magical than most.
Blaine’s Dallas is open Tuesday-Friday, 10 am-7 pm, and Saturday, 9 am-6 pm. The public grand opening soiree happens September 7.
