Rock the Holidays Away
Big rockers headline 2013 Christmas concert by 102.1 The Edge
Following a history of worthy lineups, the annual Christmas concert from alt-rock radio station 102.1 The Edge features two major rock acts that'll serve as co-headliners: Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington and Jared Leto's Thirty Seconds to Mars.
"How The Edge Stole Christmas" takes place December 5 at Verizon Theatre in Grand Prairie. Supporting acts include Blue October, Panic! at the Disco, Capital Cities and New Politics.
Stone Temple Pilots parted ways with singer Scott Weiland in February; Rolling Stone described them as having had a "dramatic year." The remaining members recruited Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington to sing. The new quartet has an EP called High Rise slated for release on October 8.
Bennington and STP premiered on October 3 on The Tonight Show, with a performance of the up-tempo song "Black Heart."
"How The Edge Stole Christmas" is celebrating its 12th edition. Previous lineups include Smashing Pumpkins, Snow Patrol, Rise Against and Taking Back Sunday. Since it's held at Verizon, it almost always sells out.
Ticket prices range from $29.50-$47.50, and will go on sale Friday, October 11. But The Edge will give away tickets on the air every day until then. Must listen! Every day!
