We Heart Target
Add this to the list of reasons to love Target: The retailer is expanding its Beauty Concierge program to 95 stores — including 25 around Dallas-Fort Worth, from Frisco to Flower Mound to Cityplace on Haskell Avenue.
Target initially launched a test program in the Chicago area in July 2012. Concierges, dressed in black instead of the standard red, are armed with iPads, mirrors and product samples to help shoppers navigate what may be an intimidating department.
These “highly-trained, brand-agnostic beauty enthusiasts” answer questions and provide unbiased information about the beauty products currently lining Target’s shelves, which include an assortment of natural and organic products such as Burt’s Bees and designer makeup brands such as Sonia Kashuk. No appointments are necessary, and hours are posted inside the store.
“We’re thrilled with the early success of the Beauty Concierge program and its expansion to more markets across the country,” said Christina Hennington, Target’s vice president of beauty and personal care, in a release. “This uniquely Target program helps guests receive the friendly, personalized guidance they want while purchasing trusted national brands and must-have exclusives at affordable prices.”
Earlier this year, in addition to more stores in the Chicago area, Target expanded the program to select stores in Los Angeles; Orange County; Washington, D.C.; Virginia; Baltimore; and Minneapolis. Along with the 25 DFW stores, the program has been rolled out in New York, New Jersey and San Francisco.
