The best-dressed Dallas women resist tradition at Crystal Charity Ball
Dallas' most fashionable female philanthropists always impress at Crystal Charity Ball, the grand finale of the fall social season and one of the most glamorous charitable events of the year.
Although we always see our fair share of classics from designers such as Oscar de la Renta, this year Zac Posen demanded the most attention. Several attendees — including Kimberly Schlegel Whitman, who has my vote for best dressed because of a red show-stopper, and Cynthia Smoot, who scored her emerald green gown at Vintage Martini — rocked designs from Posen, who says he has always infused his collections with a sense of drama.
Others chose local designers, including ball chair Robyn Conlon, who wore an embellished red gown evocative of the gala's theme, Jewels of the Garden, from fellow Crystal Charity member Patti Flowers. J.B. Hayes wore Lublu Kira Plastinina, a dress she had sent in from Russia because it's not yet available in the United States.
Nardos Imam designed her own for this very special evening; Mackenzie Brittingham Sumrall also wore a look from Imam. Speaking of doing it yourself, Kim Bannister, a vision in winter white, added her own fur accents.
