Frisco police are investigating the unexplained death of a 10-year-old boy. The fifth-grader at Isbell Elementary was found dead in his home around 6:30 pm on January 29.
According to a statement, police arrived at the 15000 block of Mountain View Lane in Hunter's Creek neighborhood after someone reported a welfare concern. No other details about the identity of the caller or a possible relation to the family was released.
After speaking with the boy's parents, police took his mother, Pallavi Dhawan, into custody at the scene "in connection with the child's death." Dhawan, 38, was transported to the Frisco Police Department for further investigation. No formal charges have been filed at this time.
On January 30, Isbell Elementary principal Serita Dodson sent a letter to parents informing them of the boy's death. His name has not been released.
"At this time, we want to respect the family's need for privacy, as we also join together in expressing our heartfelt sympathy," the letter read.
