Leader of The Park
Klyde Warren Park appoints new president Tara Green
After only seven months, it's clear that Klyde Warren Park is already a go-to destination in downtown Dallas. To try to build on that momentum, the park has hired Tara Green as its new president, completing a search that commenced after Mark Banta announced his resignation in January.
Green has had a presence around the area for many years. She was chief revenue officer for American Airlines Center, vice president and chief operating officer of the North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee, and vice president of sports marketing with the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau. She will officially begin her tenure in mid-June.
In a statement, Jody Grant, chairman of the Woodall Rodgers Park Foundation board, says it was Green's job experience that made her an ideal candidate for the job. "[Green's] sports and entertainment background will give her the unique perspective to operate the park as a premier venue."
Klyde Warren Park is not fully complete; its restaurant, Savor, is still under construction. With the restaurant scheduled to open this summer, its successful completion will be Green's top priority.
Additionally, Green will be responsible for continuing the park's varied programming and securing support, both financial and otherwise, to ensure the park can continue its mission.
