1 person injured in unusual shooting at North Dallas Galleria mall
A shooting at Galleria Dallas shut down the North Dallas mall on June 16.
The shooting occurred in the food court on the third floor, right before 7 pm closing time, and the mall was evacuated.
According to a release from the Dallas Police Department, the shooting took place at approximately 6:42 pm, when officers responded to a Disturbance Active Shooter call from an officer working in off-duty.
The shooting took place between two young men who apparently knew each other. The victim was in his late teens or early 20s, and the suspect was about the same age.
The two were observed in the food court in a physical fight which escalated until one shot the other.
The victim was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas by Dallas Fire Rescue. His condition is unknown. The suspect fled the location in an unknown direction.
The mall was put on lockdown and all employees and customers were safely evacuated.
