This Dallas suburb is chock-full of caring people, says new study
As 2015 comes to a close, many people look to donate their time, money, or goods. And according to a new study from WalletHub, there are few folks in Texas more caring than the residents of Plano.
In an analysis of the 100 most populated cities in the United States, Plano ranked among the most caring cities in America at No. 25.
WalletHub included a number of factors in the rankings, broken down into three main categories: "Caring for the Community," "Caring for the Vulnerable and Homeless," and "Caring in the Workforce." Plano ranked No. 10 in the second category, thanks to the third lowest child poverty rate among cities studied. The Dallas suburb ranked No. 33 in the community category but came in at No. 70 in the workforce category.
The biggest cities in Texas, however, fell into the bottom 50 of the list, with Fort Worth at No. 68, Austin at No. 75, Dallas at No. 79, and San Antonio at No. 83. The least caring city in the state? Houston at No. 96.
The top five caring cities were spread around the country, including Boise, Idaho; Lincoln, Nebraska; Madison, Wisconsin; Anchorage, Alaska; and Chesapeake, Virginia.
Detroit, Michigan was named the least caring city of them all.
