Since we live in a "work hard, play hard" world, it helps when an entertainment destination can truly do it all. The newly opened Strike + Reel in Garland is so much more than just a movie theater, bowling alley, restaurant, or arcade — it's all of them, and more.

The 90,000-square-foot venue is not only the epitome of fun-filled family day or a luxurious night out, but a chance to have a different experience each time you visit. Whether you're looking to please a crowd or seeking a distinctive good time, here's what's waiting for you:

Movies just got more fun
Cushy, heated, reclining loungers. Gigantic screens and state-of-the-art sound. All the latest releases, plus Flashback Cinema classics showing every Wednesday and Sunday. And $5 Movie Tuesdays all day. This isn't a typical movie-going experience, but an escape into cinematic paradise. Of course, you can also dine right in your seat with a menu developed especially for easy nibbling.

Bowl with it
Test your skills on 24 high-quality bowling lanes surrounded by high-energy lights and music, or bowl away from the crowd in the VIP suite, where there are just eight lanes. Order snacks and drinks lane-side, and watch the big games on the big screens.

Game on
From new releases like Virtual Rabbits and Hyper Shoot to updated classics such as Pong and the world's largest Pac-Man, Strike + Reel's arcade has no shortage of fun. In addition, you can suit up for rock climbing or the high-ropes course that balances above the arcade floor, or test your skills at bumper cars and two-level Xtreme laser tag. You can even achieve VIP player status by buying a $100 Fun Card and getting 10 percent more game play at your current visit and future ones — just be sure hang onto the same card.

Dine + drink
Just in the mood for a really good meal or a couple of cocktails? Strike + Reel is still your go-to. In addition to lane-side and in-movie dining, the modern American kitchen serves its own quiet restaurant, tucked away from the games. Lunch and dinner menus are prepared by experienced chefs and span comfort-food classics to New York-style pizza to fresh entrees, topped off with a roster of sweet desserts. Complement your meal with a selection of 24 draft beers, 12 tapped wines, and hand-mixed craft cocktails.

Don't forget there are five private rooms in addition to the eight VIP bowling lanes, meaning it's easy to host birthday parties, group outings, and corporate events. Each time you go, it's a whole new experience.

Strike + Reel is located at 5902 N. President George Bush Hwy.
