Free Summer Fun
New party series guarantees free fun in downtown Dallas this summer
During the dog days of summer, downtown Dallas can often feel a little dead, especially on the weekends. Reunion Tower is looking to remedy that by hosting the new Reunion Lawn Party, a free monthly event sure to enliven the area.
The parties will be held at Reunion Park, the former location of Reunion Arena that hosted the March Madness Music Festival when the NCAA Men's Final Four was in town in April 2014.
Taking place the last Saturday of the month starting in May and lasting through September, each lawn party will feature music from up-and-coming local and regional bands; food from a variety of food trucks; a beer garden sponsored by Nodding Donkey with craft brews and wine; and lawn games such as ring toss, corn hole and frisbee.
Every month will feature a DJ, opening act and headliner. The kickoff event on May 30 will feature DJ MC CM, The Jonathan Fox Band as opening act and The O's as the headliner. Also expect eight food trucks, including founding event sponsor Ruthie's Rolling Cafe, Easy Slider, Flatlanders Taco Company and more.
Although the Reunion Lawn Party is an outside event, no dogs will be allowed, nor will any outside alcohol be permitted.
