Pearl Jam has been stoking the fires of anticipation with a countdown clock on the band's official site, and now the secret is out: Pearl Jam is embarking on a 21-city North American tour that includes a stop at American Airlines Center on Friday, November 15, the band's only Texas date.
The concert marks the first time Pearl Jam has played in Dallas as a full band since playing at what was then the Smirnoff Music Centre (now Gexa Energy Pavilion) on June 6, 2003. Lead singer Eddie Vedder has made the occasional visit to the area, including last November at Music Hall at Fair Park.
The addition of Pearl Jam to the slate will make for an extraordinarily busy week for American Airlines Center. The stadium will host five different concerts in seven days, including Drake, Rihanna's make-up date, Josh Groban and Pink's second visit of 2013.
That's not to mention the possibility of hosting games by either the Dallas Mavericks or Dallas Stars, whose schedules have yet to be announced but who will both be playing regular season games in November.
Pearl Jam is also rumored to be coming out with a new album, and since the band's new countdown clock is set to expire on Wednesday, July 10, you probably won't have to wait long to have those rumors confirmed.
Tickets for the tour go on sale to the general public on July 27, but anyone who was already a member of the Pearl Jam Ten Club will have access to pre-sale tickets.
