1. The most surprising foodie neighborhood in Dallas. For decades, Lower Greenville was the last neighborhood that came to mind if you were looking for a good meal. Cut to 2013, and things have changed. This once-boozy area stretching from Belmont down to Ross is now one of the most dining-friendly strips in the city.
2. Twelve signs of the new Dallas foodie revolution. Dallas has two kinds of foodies, and if you were searching for a bellwether to distinguish between the two, it would be the opening of Truck Yard, the Austin-esque food truck park on Lower Greenville. Old Foodies and New Foodies have key characteristics that make them two distinct groups.
3. UT Dallas grad Ross Ulbricht arrested for running "black market Amazon" for drugs, guns and hitmen. The FBI has seized the domain of Silk Road — a website devoted to purchasing and selling high-grade drugs, from marijuana to heroin— and arrested whom they claim to be the mastermind behind the site: University of Texas at Dallas alum Ross Ulbricht.
4. Where to eat in Dallas right now: 10 hot restaurants for October. The savvy, veteran diner knows to put a big red circle around the months of September and October. That's because this time of the year is ideal for his favorite sport: restaurant openings. The summer is over and everyone's back on track.
