1. Supermarket chain H-E-B to celebrate milestones on 2 Dallas-Fort Worth stores. H-E-B continues its expansion in Dallas-Fort Worth, with progress on two major projects. The retailer will break ground on a store in Prosper, located at the southeast corner of Frontier Parkway and Dallas North Tollway. The ground-breaking will take place on Tuesday, April 2. One week later, H-E-B will officially open the doors of H-E-B Alliance located at 3451 Heritage Trace Pkwy. in Fort Worth on April 10.
2. New sports bar from Food Network chef debuts in Frisco with free sips sips. A sports bar of a different kind has opened in Frisco: Called Fanzo, it's the new concept featuring TV-celebrity chef Vijay Sadhu, and it celebrated its grand opening on March 22 at 5977 Preston Rd.
3. This is how much money you need to retire by 40 in Texas, report finds. Many working adults have asked themselves whether or not they'll be able to achieve an early retirement, but the reality is: It's not attainable anywhere in the U.S. without a substantial nest egg (and the income to go with it). In Texas, that nest egg would have to be at least $1 million in the bank, according to a new annual report by personal finance website GoBankingRates.
4. Goofy Charles Barkley blimp to fly over Dallas en route to Final Four. It’s a bird… It’s a plane… Nope, it’s a Charles Barkely blimp. If you were outside in Dallas at noon on March 28 and looked up, you might have seen the former NBA player and sports commentator superimposed on a blimp.
5. Custom estate in Frisco lined with marble and chandeliers goes on auction. An opulent estate less than an hour north of Dallas with custom marble floors, an iron front door, and loaded gourmet kitchen is about to hit the market on auction. Built in 2022, the home is in Frisco’s Bretton Woods neighborhood at 9966 Pleasant Pine Ln., on the northern edge of Frisco that borders Prosper. The estate was previously listed for $1.95 million, but now will be auctioned by Interluxe Auctions starting April 8 with a starting bid of $800,000.
