Pickleball Fever
A new pickleball festival smashes into Texas Rangers stadium in Arlington
Dallas-Fort Worth continues its streak as pickleball capital of the world, and now comes the Stadium Smash Pickleball Experience Tour, a five-day pickleball fest with pickleball courts and live music, taking place at Globe Life Field in Arlington from December 18-22. (UPDATE - 12/11/23: This event has been canceled.)
The event is from REVELxp, a hospitality group that does tailgates; and USA Pickleball, the governing body for the sport of pickleball and the host of the USA Pickleball National Championships, the biggest pickleball tournament in history, taking place this week at Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch from November 6-12.
They're calling this a "tour," but there are currently no other dates scheduled.
The event will feature 20 pickleball courts set up on the outfield of Globe Life Field, where players can participate in professional clinics and amateur tournaments.
There will also be a festival area with music, live entertainment, food, and drink, plus tours of Globe Life Field and photo opportunities.
Courts will be available to rent in one-hour increments starting at $70 per person for a court of six. Clinics will be offered multiple times daily throughout the event, starting at $150.
A tournament runs December 19-21, and anyone who pays the $150 fee can compete. Each team is guaranteed four games with the opportunity to advance to medal play.
Tickets for the event go on sale to the public on Monday, November 6 at 9 am at revelxp.com/stadium-smash. VIP ticket packages are available and include one-hour court rental, tour of the Texas Rangers clubhouse, and a gift bag.
