Celebrity skincare guru closes her namesake Dallas spa
Spa junkies, this is not a Halloween trick. Celebrity esthetician and Texas-based skin expert Renée Rouleau will close her spa's Dallas location at One Arts Plaza at the end of the year.
She announced the decision on her website October 31, explaining that the spa was not adequately set up to meet customers' demand for retail products between appointments.
"In 2008, when I made the decision to expand our spa to downtown Dallas, it was to a small, appointment-only, satellite location in a new, high rise residential building," she writes. "The idea was that we would offer services to the residents of the building and to others in the nearby downtown area. While this location served its purpose of offering our sought-after facial services, it's not conducive for retailing our skincare line. Simply put, the Dallas location is not set up as a retail store."
The spa will close on December 30. Rouleau says her Plano location will remain open and will continue to offer both skincare services and retail shopping. In addition, she is ramping up her online retail efforts on her e-commerce site and blog, www.reneerouleau.com.
Rouleau opened her first spa in 1996 in far north Dallas, before relocating to Plano. She moved her headquarters to Austin in 2014. Her facials have been recognized as the best in Dallas by Allure and other publications. Through 21 years in business, she has attracted both loyal Dallas clientele and a celebrity following that includes Demi Lovato, Emmy Rossum, and Sofia Vergara.
In her closure announcement, she thanked her Dallas clients and promised there's more to come, saying, "We have lots of exciting new skin care services debuting in Plano next month, as well as more new expertly formulated skincare products that will continue to delight you, our loyal clients and friends. ... I am forever grateful for all who have believed in my vision, and I can’t wait to continue this journey together."
