Fashion Battle Royale
CultureMap readers name WAREhaus in West Village the top new shop in Dallas
We are wrapping up our end-of-year wrap-ups, and that includes the reader polls. We have a winner for the fourth and final installment, in which we asked our readers to choose the top shop to hit the Dallas fashion scene in fall 2012.
The winner is WAREhaus, from Patrick Ware and Erin McBriar, formerly of the gone-but-not-forgotten LFT.
Q Clothier/Rye 51 barely squeaked past Number One/Le Jus to slide in at No. 2.
With a commanding 53 percent of the vote, the men’s clothier in West Village beat out fellow West Village men’s store Q Clothier/Rye 51, as well as Nicole Kwon, Office of Angela Scott, Number One/Le Jus and Rag & Bone.
The race for second was close, as the other five stores all received between 8 and 10 percent of the vote. Q barely squeaked past Number One/Le Jus to slide in at No. 2.
WAREhaus carries edgy labels like Percival and Wolf vs. Goat, plus local favorite Mizzen + Main. An in-store bar encourages customers to linger.
“While Dallas women’s boutiques dominate our city, we are hard-pressed to find the same for men,” Ware has said of his new endeavor. “We want to offer a small, personal, male-driven boutique that’s easy to access and you don’t have to drive around the mall to find.”
