The March edition of Where to Shop, CultureMap Dallas' monthly roundup of new shops, sales, and beauty, is jam-packed, covering a wide swath of stores and shopping events — from fashion to skin care to home goods, there's plenty of new things to check out this spring. Plus news of a local shopping legend changing hands.

Here's where to shop in Dallas right now:

    Bachendorf’s
A mainstay jewelry brand considered the largest fine jeweler in Dallas has unveiled a newly redesigned store at The Galleria Dallas. It features an enhanced shop-in-shop for both Montblanc and Zenith, offering a more personalized way to explore the brands. The store is 7,000 square feet, offering a sleek, elevated shopping experience. The brand is known for carrying rings, earrings, necklaces, and watch brands such as Rolex and Cartier.

    Buckle
Denim destination and specialty retailer has opened a location at Allen Premium Outlets — a relocation of its space previously at Fairview Town Center. The new store is designed to create an enhanced and immersive shopping experience. It’s known for showcasing a selection of styles and brands like Levi’s and Oakley including tops, shoes, accessories, and jeans.

    The Citizenry
Home goods store opened a new Dallas location at 4527 McKinney Ave. It comes from Dallas natives Carly Nance and Rachel Bentley, who wanted to create a space for globally inspired furniture and decor. Items include the popular Catalina boucle pillow for $129 and Torres round leather ottoman for $799.

    Fresh
Streetwear-inspired apparel for men, women, and children, blending style, comfort, and urban edge opened at Grand Prairie Premium Outlets. Located next to Lacoste.

    Happy Beauty Co.
Beauty retailer recently opened at Grand Prairie Premium Outlets has 6,000 products in cosmetics, nails, haircare, skincare, men’s grooming, and accessories, most priced for $10 or less. There's all kinds of makeup, perfume, moisturizers, bath salts, glue-on nails, brushes, glitter shadow, and more. This is the 10th location in DFW.

    Hari Mari
Dallas-based sandal and slipper brand has a new collaboration with Untuckit, the casual shirt company, launching on March 11. The Untuckit x Hari Mari flip flop is designed with the everyday explorer in mind, with a footbed that showcases Untuckit's branding along with Hari Mari’s MemoryFoamToe period. The Untuckit x Hari Mari flip-flops will be $90 online at untuckit.com as well as select Untuckit retail locations.

    Mazie's Mission
Nonprofit veterinary hospital has opened a new, bigger space at 6505 W. Park Blvd. #155 at Prestonwood Park shopping center in Plano. Mazie’s Mission, which started in 2014, offers the same services as other vet clinics, but they specialize in treating homeless and shelter animals. According to its site, it’s the only vet clinic of its kind in the country, and doesn’t see privately owned pets outside of community outreach programs. To see them in action, they’ll have some cute pups up for adoption at Frisco’s Stonebriar Mall on the lower level on March 8 from 1-5 pm.

    Neiman Marcus downtown Dallas
After more than a century as the bedrock of downtown Dallas, luxury retailer Neiman Marcus will close its location at 1618 Main St. on March 31. NM owner Saks Global has vowed to execute a $100 million renovation to reimagine their NorthPark store, and there are also stores at the Shops at Willow Bend in Plano, and the Shops at Clearfork in Fort Worth. Reservations at the Zodiac Room, the store's iconic in-house cafe, are completely sold out — but no shopping fanatic should let the month go by without making a final pilgrimage to the original store and riding the beautiful brass elevator one last time.

    OrangeTwist
Non-invasive, non-surgical center opened a new Dallas location in February at Mockingbird Station. This marks the company’s fifth North Texas location. They offer services addressing weight loss, skin tightening, botox, and more. Monthly memberships start at $99 and include discounts and seasonal gift exclusives.

    The Shops at Highland Village
Outdoor lifestyle shopping center in Highland Village will host Bloom, a month-long event promoting sustainability from March 15-April 22 with family-friendly activities such as Global Recycling Day March 15 11 am-1 pm, when attendees can get old documents shredded, plus donation drives such as towels and dog leashes for Flower Mound Animal Services. The Shops at Highland Village features more than 60 retailers, boutiques, dining, and personal services.

    Swoon, the Studio
Local interior design firm is now open full-time with its own retail space at The Joule following a temporary pop-up at the end of 2024. The pop-up introduced their selection of ceramics, housewares, gifts, and one-of-a-kind art pieces. The shop is a treasure trove of ceramics, housewares, gifts, vintage pieces, and unique artworks sourced during the team’s extensive travels. There's also a flow of fresh finds—from sculptures, prints, paintings, and photography to shimmering, metallic ribbed socks from Italy.

    Tanya Foster x Ming Wang
Popular Dallas blogger Tanya Foster has partnered with luxury knitwear brand Ming Wang for a new womenswear collection. The collaboration features expertly crafted jackets, suite separates, shift dresses, and more — embodying values of timelessness, versatility, and elegance. Available at Dillard’s, Nordstrom, and Von Maur, the collection includes easy shift dresses in black, white, or emerald green; and pinstripe cotton dresses with a flattering flare — affordably priced from $135-$325.

    Texas General Store
Texas-themed gift shop recently opened at Grapevine Mills, near Marshall’s. This marks a return for the shop, known for its Texas-inspired gifts, apparel, food, and home décor, after closing its original location on Grapevine’s Main Street in January.

    Train-a-Palooza
Shop for trains at the 11th annual Train-A-Palooza, a two-day model train show on March 8-9 taking place at Grapevine Convention Center, with 14,000 square feet of exhibits, working model layouts, and rare collectibles. Plus, little conductors can hop aboard the Choo Choo Express trackless train rides outside. Ticket prices for the public are $10 for adults, $2 for children 11-18, and children under 10 are free with accompanying adults.

    Kindred Motorworks
Car manufacturer has joined the Sewell dealership portfolio as its first dealer brand at their Dallas dealership. The Sewell partnership will initially focus on the V8-powered Kindred Bronco, which will be available at Sewell’s pre-owned showroom located on Lemmon Avenue near Love Field Airport. This partnership allows customers to test drive, buy, and get their Kindred models serviced.

    Stanley Korshak
Luxury goods specialty department store for men and women in Dallas has been acquired by Mitchells Stores, a Connecticut-based collection of luxury retail stores. Owner Crawford Brock will remain with the company. Stay tuned for their events happening through the month: March 6-8 – Pescarolo personal appearance and trunk show with Marco Pescarolo and Anna De Natteis and the shop opening party on March 6 from 4-6 pm; March 6-7 – Malone Souliers Trunk Show in Ladies Shoes; March 14-15 – Dru Jewelry Trunk Show in Jewelry; March 19 – Georgia Jagger personal appearance and skin care pop up with her Cosmetics line, MAY Botanicals, Cosmetics, 2-4 pm.

Neiman Marcus owner files bankruptcy, leaving Dallas stores' fate unclear

    John Egan
    Jan 14, 2026 | 2:12 pm
    Neiman Marcus
    Neiman Marcus
The fate of the Neiman Marcus flagship in downtown Dallas is up in the air.

The fate of stores operated by Saks Global, parent company of the Dallas-based Neiman Marcus luxury retail chain, is up in the air following its bankruptcy filing on January 13 in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Houston.

For the time being, all of the roughly 160 stores under the Saks Global umbrella, including Neiman Marcus’ 36 locations, will remain open. Seven of Neiman Marcus’ stores are in Texas, including four in Dallas-Fort Worth.

The more than $2 billion in debt that Saks Global amassed to acquire Neiman Marcus in 2024 helped push the company into bankruptcy court. According to The Wall Street Journal, Saks Global is the highest-profile department store chain to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy since the pandemic.

As part of its Chapter 11 bankruptcy case, announced in a news release January 14, Saks Global has secured about $1.75 billion in financing to keep the company afloat and its stores open. A bankruptcy judge must approve the financing package.

In announcing the bankruptcy, Saks Global says it’s evaluating its store lineup “to invest resources where it has the greatest long-term potential. This approach reflects an effort to focus the business in areas where [our] luxury retail brands are best positioned for sustainable growth.”

Chapter 11 bankruptcy allows a business to reorganize its finances and operations. For retailers, the process can include cost-cutting moves such as closing poorly performing stores.

Effectively immediately, Geoffroy van Raemdonck has taken over the CEO role at Saks Global — following the recent departures of CEO Marc Metrick and his short-time successor, Richard Baker. Van Raemdonck, who relocated in 2023 from Dallas to New York City, was CEO of Neiman Marcus before Saks Global bought it in 2024 for $2.7 billion.

“This is a defining moment for Saks Global, and the path ahead presents a meaningful opportunity to strengthen the foundation of our business and position it for the future,” van Raemdonck says in a press release. “I look forward to serving as CEO and continuing to transform the [company] so that Saks Global continues to play a central role in shaping the future of luxury retail.”

The most notable DFW location of Neiman Marcus is the chain’s 129,000-square-foot flagship store in downtown Dallas, which the retailer owns.

Saks Global said last February that it would close the iconic store, which debuted in 1914, on March 31, 2025. But days before the scheduled closure, Saks reversed course and decided to keep the store open — at least temporarily rescuing two of the flagship’s signature features, the upscale Zodiac Room restaurant and the elegant Bridal Salon.

Here’s a list of Neiman Marcus’ seven locations in Texas:

    • Flagship store in downtown Dallas.
    • NorthPark Center in North Dallas (slated to undergo a $100 million renovation).
    • Shops at Clearfork in Southwest Fort Worth.
    • Shops at Willow Bend in Plano (scheduled to close in January 2027).
    • Galleria in Houston’s Uptown District.
    • Domain Northside in North Austin.
    • Shops at La Cantera in Northwest San Antonio.

The retailer’s lower-price sister, Neiman Marcus Last Call, closed most of its locations in 2020 and 2021, but five remain open. They include stores at Grapevine Mills in Dallas-Fort Worth and San Marcos Premium Outlets in the Austin metro area.

In Texas, high-end retailer Saks Fifth Avenue operates one traditional store at The Galleria in Houston and another at North Star Mall in North San Antonio, along with one appointment-only store at Fort Worth’s Bowie House and another at Austin’s Commodore Perry Estate. Across the country, Saks Fifth Avenue operates about 50 traditional and appointment-only stores.

Saks’ lower-price sister, Saks Off 5th, announced in November that it was shuttering nine locations, including its store at Gateway Shopping Center in Northwest Austin. The closures will bring the brand’s store count to 70.
