Crystal Charity's 10 Best Dressed to wear edgy yet feminine fashions from Alexander McQueen
Recently the Crystal Charity Ball committee announced some rather big news: Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen will be the featured designer at the highly anticipated 10 Best Dressed Fashion Show and Luncheon this fall, which honors the most stylish and philanthropic ladies in Dallas.
Every year, the selected women flaunt designer looks on the runway at Neiman Marcus Downtown. Last year, Lanvin was the chosen designer. This year's event promises to be equally seductive, thanks to Burton's exciting and modern designs.
"[Burton] continues the heritage of the house with theatrical runway presentations that translate effortlessly from the catwalk to the sidewalk," says Ken Downing.
"Sarah Burton has done a wonderful job with the McQueen label," says Claire Emanuelson, this year's luncheon chair and active Crystal Charity member since 2007. "She is admired worldwide, and I think having a very current designer is a huge plus. There aren't many ladies — or gents — who didn't love the beautiful wedding gown she designed for the Duchess of Cambridge. I'm certain there will be something for everyone."
"[Burton] brings an excitement and modern elegance to the world of fashion," says Ken Downing, senior vice president and fashion director of Neiman Marcus. "Feminine on the fringe, [Burton] continues the heritage of the house with theatrical runway presentations that translate effortlessly from the catwalk to the sidewalk.
"Razor-sharp tailoring, couture quality embellishments and her ability to cut a dress that is flattering, feminine and fantastically memorable — these are clothes women embrace and add to their wardrobe season after season."
Emanuelson says she has no idea what she will be wearing to the September 12 event. "But you know what the label will read!"
