There's a new discount "bin store" making its Dallas debut this weekend: Called BT Dealz, it's a retailer selling liquidated products directly to consumers, and it opens on March 22 in Lewisville in a former Tuesday Morning store at 2325 S. Stemmons Fwy.

BT Dealz sources overstocked merchandise, store returns, and discontinued items from Amazon and other large retailers across the country, buying in bulk and hoping to reap items of value.

A bin store is a store where shoppers rummage through bins of overstock or returned goods that are being sold at bargain prices. It's become a national trend with stores like Bin City, Cheap Charlie’s Bargain Bins, or Bargains in a Box.

These stores are a byproduct of the current online retail industry, when sellers get stuck with returns that are too complicated to restock and repackage. Amazon was even found to be destroying merchandise and introduced programs to find a place for the returned goods to be sold.

DFW has seen entries such as Big D Bin Store on Royal Lane, Crazy Cazboy's in Arlington, and Quicklotz Liquidations in Hurst.

BT Dealz comes from "BT" — entrepreneur Bret Tibbets, who previously worked in the storage industry and who was selling merchandise online before deciding to open a store at Vista Ridge Village, a shopping center that's also home to stores such as PetSmart, Marshall's, Joanne's Fabrics, and Five Below.

BT Dealz occupies a 15,477-square-foot space and is definitely no frills: a giant room featuring canvas bins on wheels rolled into "aisles" which merchandise tossed into each bin a random manner. Nothing's organized; it's hunt-and-peck. You've got to be one of those people who love sifting through piles of stuff to unearth the hidden gem.

Items for sale include appliances, electronics, and fashion finds, with thousands of Items for $9 or less.

Some of the items for sale on day one include sporting gear, Joovy baby carriages, Singer sewing machines, pillows, popcorn makers, Nespresso machines, headphones, curling irons, heating blankets, and Eureka vacuum cleaners.

Most of these stores operate the same way: They pick a day to set out new products, then drop the price day by day.

At BT Dealz, items start out at $9, and there's a sliding scale:
