    Just Uber It

Uber makes it even easier to get your favorite food delivered in Dallas

    Nicole Raney
    Mar 24, 2016 | 12:28 pm

Once again, Uber is ready to deliver. The ride-sharing company's food delivery service, UberEats, has launched a new and improved app in Dallas, dramatically increasing the number of participating restaurants and the delivery area.

UberEats now serves the majority of Dallas — twice the area it previously covered — including downtown, Uptown, Bishop Arts, Deep Ellum, Design District, Oak Lawn, Highland Park, University Park, Knox-Henderson, Lower Greenville, and Lakewood.

New restaurant partners include the likes of Unleavened Fresh Kitchen, Pakpao, El Bolero, Monkey King Noodle, Oddfellows, and Empire Baking Co., bringing the total to nearly 100 dining options.

Like requesting a ride through Uber, the ordering process is simple. Download the new app, use your existing Uber info, select a participating restaurant, and order your desired dishes. Via the Instant Delivery menu, you can select prepared meals from top Dallas eateries that will be delivered within 10 minutes (this was previously the only option for UberEats).

The service is available seven days a week from 8 am to midnight. There's a base delivery fee of $3 for the Instant Delivery menu and a fee of $5 for a regular order.

In addition to Dallas, UberEats is now available in Houston, Austin, and other major U.S. cities.

City of Frisco to get its very first Whole Foods Market

Booming wealthy Frisco is the land of plenty, but somehow it does not yet have its own Whole Foods Market. Up until now.

The city will now get its first Whole Foods Market at the Mix, the 112-acre mixed-use community at Dallas Parkway and Lebanon Road, where construction has begun on a future location that will serve as the anchor tenant of The Mix’s retail center.

“We are excited to welcome Frisco’s first Whole Foods Market to The Mix,” says The Mix's head of development Tim Campbell in a release. “We believe the store will offer Frisco residents high-quality food and an elevated grocery shopping experience. Whole Foods Market has remained committed to this site and Frisco for more than 10 years and will be a great asset to The Mix and our community.”

Frisco City Council Member John Keating says that "the community has been asking for this unique shopping experience for years, and we are excited to see it come to fruition."

The new Whole Foods Market and upscale retail center are part of the first phase of development at The Mix, which broke ground in January 2025. Phase one of The Mix includes 28 acres, approximately 100,000 total square feet of retail space, 115,000 square feet of Class A office space, 635 urban residential units, and part of the 8-acre central park.

There's no info yet on store size, bells & whistles, or opening date, but there are plenty of words about the design, thanks to Giuseppe Colosimo, principal at Arcadis and designer of the retail center.

It won't just be a regular old supermarket, but with a design that draws inspiration from the natural wonders of the Texas prairie, Colosimo says.

“Taking cues from the iconic fields of bluebonnets and the stratification found in local stones, the architecture integrates these elements of the Frisco landscape," Colosimo says.
