Dallas Cowboys great puts his million-dollar ranch in the real estate game
On the heels of the NFL Draft, a new ranch property has gone on the market — the 101-acre Mineola ranch owned by Bob Breunig, the legendary Dallas Cowboy linebacker from the Roger Staubach and Danny White eras.
Breunig is known not only as a Super Bowl Champion and one of the Cowboys’ all-time greats, but as a civic and business leader in Dallas. Improvements to his horse ranch include a 2,400-square-foot main house; two guest cottages; a 15-stall Morgan horse barn; a riding arena; and more.
Located about an hour and 15 minutes from Dallas and just northwest of Tyler, the ranch at 2325 FM 49, Mineola, has a charming Southern-style home, fronted with a shaded porch. Built in 2001, the main house encompasses 2,400 square feet and has three bedrooms and one bath. There is a 1,000-square-foot, three-bedroom, one-bath guest cottage, and a 1,000-square-foot, one-bedroom, one-bath guest cottage.
The ranch’s 15-stall horse barn has a tack room, wash rack, a separate veterinary area, office, and client lounge. There is also a hay barn, two 1,500-square-foot storage barns, and pipe fencing.
The property has been a weekend family home for the Breunigs, where for a time, Breunig’s daughter operated an equestrian camp. Photos from that time show just how suitable the set-up with the spacious barn, covered arena, grounds and sandy loam soil is for that use. The pastureland would also support cattle or crops. Utilities are buried, so there are no lines or poles to mar the scenic grounds of a residential home.
“This would make an excellent family retreat compound for anyone,” said Lynda Piepgras of The Associates Realty. “Horse people will especially love this place because of its equestrian-related improvements and trails. It’s close to the Texas Rose Horse Park, near Tyler, where so many horse shows and activities are held. It’s an easy drive to trailer horses there."
Bart Breunig and Lynda Piepgras of The Associates Realty are co-presenting the ranch, which will be listed at $1.1 million. For more information contact Bart Breunig at 214-402-9610, or Lynda Piepgras at 214-228-7318.
