Happy New Year! Because most of us resolve to eat less and exercise more, I found a home that will make it oh-so-easy for us. And it’s only $3.15 million!
Come this time next year, you will be challenging Martina Navratilova, mimicking Mark Spitz and giving Jane Fonda a run for her money. Then you can look all sexy shooting pool.
This home has a huge swimming pool, tennis court and billiards room. And what everyone needs in the new year: a private exercise studio.

This studio is right off the master, which rivals the one at Champs d’Or, with sitting room, fireplace and spa bath. So no more excuses. Roll out of bed, get into your Lulu’s and get out the Pilates ring.
Better yet: Have a hot instructor come on over at 8 am sharp.
The home sits on 1.5 acres up in Willow Bend, so you could have your own jogging track too. It was built by Todd & Hughes — as in Gordon Todd and Randy Hughes — in 1986. Hughes played football for the Cowboys from 1975 to 1980, so it really has the ’80s written all over it.
But, hey, those were not such bad days for interiors, and the bones are in place for a mini-facelift. At the recent Waterworks opening, I was talking to starchitect Richard Drummond Davis and luxury homebuilder John Sebastian about old homes versus new homes. Davis said his home built in 1922 has old windows that almost welcome in the dust and cold air.
Not this house. It has great windows; it just needs a little nip and tuck. And 5600 Cradlerock Circle — love that street name — is a big one. You get 10,526 square feet, six bedrooms, seven full baths and two half baths. And there’s a four-car garage and a home theater.
For that cool $3 mil you get all of the above, plus a wine cellar, butler’s pantry, covered outdoor patio with fireplace, several balconies, gorgeous grounds, and a porte-cochère — which comes in handy on rainy days.
The kitchen is very marble-y, and I’m dying to know what’s with that statue on the counter in the bar. One wild party, and that thing’s a goner.
Still, I think this is a great home at a great value, considering all that’s jam-packed into it. At the current price tag, you are paying less than $300 per square foot.
Best of all, with square footage like this, even if you never do one sit-up, you can get in shape just walking around this place.
