This week is all over the place, culinary wise. It starts wine and soup and ends with martinis and burgers. Two local establishments are celebrating birthdays, and one sought-after Dallas venue wants to show guests what their celebration could look like there.
Wednesday, January 16
Meiomi Wine Tasting at Abacus
Enjoy a special wine tasting event introducing the new vintages of the Meiomi Chardonnay, Rosé, and Pinot Noir. The event will also feature passed hors d’oeuvres prepared by executive chef Chris Patrick and his team. Tickets are $30 and the happy hour event starts at 5 pm.
Open House & Tasting Event at Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Garden
Gil's Elegant Catering is showering lucky guests with complimentary sips and bites at this open house that shows exactly what an event at the Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Garden can offer guests. This open house will feature other party vendors, great views, and a chance to visit with the owner's of Gil's Elegant Catering as they answer any event-related questions. The event starts at 6 pm and is free to attend; however, registration is required.

Soup's On! Luncheon at the Hilton Anatole
This 11th annual luncheon and art sale benefits The Stewpot — an organization that has served homeless and at-risk neighbors for more than 40 years. It features some of the best chefs in Dallas preparing signature soups for the occasion. Guests can also view and purchase one-of-a-kind pieces crafted by artists in the Stewpot Art Program. Tickets start at $250, and the luncheon starts at 11 am.
Saturday, January 19
Texas Wine & Cheese Tasting at the Dallas Farmers Market
Head to The Shed to experience the ultimate "eat local" wine- and cheese-tasting experience. Admission grants guests 10 samples from wineries from across the state, in addition to a commemorative glass. There will also be cheese boards for sale featuring Texas-made cheese, live music, and a chance to chat with the local makers (Silver Spur Winery, Lost Draw Cellars, Lewis Wines, and more). Tickets are $35 and the event happens from 11 am-4 pm. This event is sold out; however, those interested in getting on a wait list can call 214-664-9110.
6th Birthday Celebration at Community Beer Company
To celebrate its 6th birthday, Community Beer Company is tapping an insane amount of beer, rocking out to amazing local tunes, and bringing in food trucks for a craft beer extravaganza. Tickets start at $30 and the celebration starts at 12 pm.

10th Birthday Celebration at Kenny's Burger Joint
In celebration of 10 years on Dallas' burger scene, this wood-grilled burger joint is offerings its guests $5 burgers and specialty martinis at both the Frisco and Plano locations. The specials are happening from 11 am-10 pm.
