New bar at Four Seasons Dallas summons spirit of Texas' best music outlaws
The Four Seasons Resort at Las Colinas has executed another makeover in its food and beverage program. The hotel is launching a new indoor-outdoor bar called Outlaw Taproom, which will open in February.
The name Outlaw is inspired by the hotel's signature restaurant, called Law, a casual concept that replaced longtime fine-dining spot Cafe on the Green in March.
But Outlaw is also a nod to the outlaws of Texas music, such as Willie Nelson, ZZ Top, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Janis Joplin, who embody the "wild, rugged spirit of the state's landscape."
Outlaw may be the theme, but the bar has been given a $1 million redesign with a showpiece tap that sits atop the bar. The interior will feature a collection of evocative photographs that depict the essence of Texas musicians, as well as wall-mounted images of guitars. The color palette is browns, with taupe, walnut, and espresso wood tones, and weathered black and tan leather furniture. Books about Texas music will sit on the coffee tables.
There'll be a grand outdoor patio that's covered, with a larger-than-life rustic fireplace and an unusual feature for cold weather days: heated ceilings. The patio also features a synthetic bocce ball court designed by Southwest Greens, and offers patrons an opportunity for a friendly or competitive game.
Located off the main lobby, Outlaw replaces Bar 19, which was more of a sports bar with billiards, shuffleboard, and big-screen TVs.
Four Seasons general manager Dirk Burghartz touts the "design cohesiveness" between Outlaw Taproom and Law, as well as the Texas theme. "Guests and locals now have a distinctively Texan bar to mingle, relax, and just hang out at," he says in a release.
Bar manager is Alfredo Sanchez, who comes from Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita where he's been working for the last 10 years. Sanchez has a BBA from the UVM Laureate International University and is a sommelier, a certified specialist of tequila, and master mezcalier.
Opened in 1986, the Four Seasons has long been one of area's top luxury hotels, with its adjoining golf, tennis, and spa resort, and its hosting of the annual Byron Nelson Championship golf tournament.
