Judging from the quiet work week, the food and drink folks in Dallas knew it would take us a while to work up an appetite after the endless wings and nachos consumed on Super Bowl Sunday. This weekend, however, it's back to the finger-licking-good events.
Friday, February 9
Becker Vineyards + 44 Farms Wine Dinner at Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse
Y.O. Ranch chef-partner Tony Street, Becker Vineyards’ Dr. Richard Becker, and 44 Farms’ Bob McClaren come together for an evening celebrating their Texas roots. The evening kicks off with a 6:30 pm wine reception followed by an extravagant four-course wine dinner at 7 pm. Courses include cowboy carpaccio, Hill Country short rib, filet rossini, and cherries jubilee. Tickets are $110, and reservations can be made by calling 214-744-3287.
Pinot Noir of the Southern Hemisphere at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse
Guests discover the rising stars of Pinot Noir in the Southern Hemisphere as members of the Pappas Bros. wine team share their latest and greatest finds from New Zealand, South Africa, and beyond. Tickets are $75, and the event starts at 6 pm. Call 214-366-2000 to reserve your spot.

Mardi Gras Celebration at Oak Highlands Brewery
This third annual event features food by Charlie's Creole Kitchen, lots of beers on tap, beads, lawn games, and more. The fun starts at noon and admission is free (booze and food extra).
Hearts and Chocolates Tour
Sample the finest offerings from Dallas' premier chocolatiers, pastry shops, and other sweet havens this weekend before Valentine's Day. Tickets are $43 and include transportation, tour guide, chocolate samples, and beverages. The bus leaves at 1:15 pm, and more details will be emailed to registered participants.

Cochon555 at Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas as Las Colinas
This premium food, wine, and spirit celebration is happening in Dallas for the first time and is recruiting help from chefs like David Uygur (Lucia), Junior Borges (Mirador), and Matt McCallister (FT33) to ensure that it's one of the best live-event series of the year. Tickets start at $130 and give guests an all-inclusive pass to embark on a 30-course stand up, sustainable dinner. The event lasts from 4-7:30 pm.
