Dallas chicken chain Super Chix cracks Frisco open with new dishes
In today's chicken news, Super Chix is opening a new location in the bustling metropolis of Frisco. The restaurant is at 9169 Dallas Pkwy., in front of LA Fitness and north of the Main Street exit off the Dallas North Tollway, in what was once an open field, unfettered by development and no doubt home to a wide assortment of flora and fauna.
That's all gone now, because chicken.
More important details on the location include the fact that it is across the Tollway from the Toyota Soccer Center complex, along with a branch of Rudy's Country Store & BBQ and a branch of Slim Chickens. That about covers the location.
This will be the third Super Chix in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and it will open on April 18. It will feature the same favorite dishes served at its branches in Richardson and North Dallas. We are talking about hand-breaded (not machine-breaded, which everyone knows are awful) chicken sandwiches and chicken tenders; hand-cut fries (again with the hand) with salt, signature sweet, or rosemary black pepper seasonings. Lighter options include Southwest chicken salad and the house salad.
The Frisco location will also serve new menu items that include the Cheesy BBQ and the Cordon Bleu. In case you have forgotten, the Cheesy BBQ and Cordon Bleu sandwiches are new menu additions that rolled out to the North Dallas and Richardson locations in March.
The Cheesy BBQ Sandwich is served with a hand-breaded filet with cheddar cheese, chopped onions and a sweet BBQ sauce. The Cordon Bleu Sandwich comes with a hand-breaded filet topped with ham, Swiss and honey mustard.
Grilled sandwiches like the That’s My Bacon Jam, a grilled chicken sandwich topped with bacon jam, gouda cheese, lettuce and tomato, and a blackened Cajun sandwich will also be available.
Vegetarians and chicken lovers alike, but probably mostly vegetarians, can try the Crispy Avocado sandwich, with hand-breaded avocado, seasoned and stuffed with melted gouda cheese, topped with garlic mayo, lettuce, and tomato.
On the custard front, Super Chix also recently launched three custard cold fusion flavors, including Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, Mint Oreo Cookies, and Pretzel M&M’s. Those will be available ongoing.
According to a release, the opening is one of six that this privately owned, premium fast-casual restaurant plans to launch in the next two years, including three in North Texas and three internationally in the Middle East. They said the same thing in 2016 re: the opening of the branch in Richardson, so that probably means there are now two more branches opening in North Texas, at locations still to be decided.
