New Plano restaurant rolls out the biscuits all day and night
The biscuits are rising in Plano with the opening of The Biscuit Bar, a new restaurant at The Boardwalk in Granite Park that specializes in biscuits with a wide range of toppings.
Founded by husband-and-wife Jake and Janie Burkett, The Biscuit Bar is a fast-casual Southern concept that does biscuits, biscuit sandwiches, tater tots, and sweet potato tater tots. There's also a full bar with beer and cocktails.
The restaurant is now open for lunch and dinner and will add breakfast hours beginning at 7 am in May.
"We love comfort food and think everything tastes better on a biscuit," Janie says in a release. "The Biscuit Bar is the perfect place for food lovers who crave biscuits as sandwiches, with toppings or as a dessert, morning, noon or night."
Menu favorites include The Hoss, named after Janie's father, made with fried chicken, bacon, jack/cheddar, honey butter, and sausage gravy; and the BBar burger, which is a burger on a biscuit.
There's also a chicken biscuit, and the "FABB," which has fig, arugula, and bacon. "Nanner Puddin" has bananas, vanilla pudding, ‘Nilla wafers, and whipped cream.
The Biscuit Bar has 2,223 square feet of interior space and a 1,303-square-foot patio facing the The Boardwalk and the waterfront. Visitors can also watch the biscuits being made from scratch through a large window.
A pity it did not open in time for CultureMap's list of 10 best biscuits.
Will Hendrickson, Managing Director of Granite Properties says they're thrilled to introduce Dallas and Collin County to a new food experience. "The Boardwalk has become a top food destination offering great culinary diversity and creativity and a cool place for people to unwind," he says.
The Boardwalk is a 30,000 square foot waterfront escape located in Granite Park, a 90-acre, mixed-use campus with six Class-A office buildings in Plano. The Boardwalk offers a restaurant row, patios, lounge areas, a children’s play area, fire pits and a waterfront for Granite customers and visitors.
The Biscuit Bar joins Union Bear Brewing, Chips Old Fashioned Hamburgers and HookLine.
Three other restaurants are slated to open this summer: new food concept B. Frank & Relish, as well as two Dallas favorites, Pearl Cup Coffee and Edith's French Bistro.
