Boulevardier restaurant in Dallas' Oak Cliff says it's going to close
A longtime restaurant in Dallas' Bishop Arts District says it's closing: Boulevardier, which opened in Oak Cliff at 408 N. Bishop Ave. in 2012, will close this spring, according to a post by its owners, Brooks Anderson, Bradley Anderson, and chef Nathan Tate.
UPDATE 3/28/2024: The restaurant's final day will be Sunday, March 31.

"Boulevardier’s run these last nearly 12 years has been simply amazing. We have had more fun, made more great memories, made more great friends, and stayed open longer than we could have ever expected when we opened way back in the summer of 2012. We were fortunate to be blessed with amazing employees, loyal regulars, and a fantastic landlord, all of whom were integral in Boulevardier staying open all these years," the post says.
"But as they say, all good things must come to an end. And Brooks, Bradley, and Nate have decided that now is time to close Boulevardier’s doors. Our last day of business shall be some time in very late March or early April, or about 4-5 weeks from today."
The owners pulled a similar ploy in 2023 with Veritas Wine Room, their wine tasting room on Henderson Avenue, announcing it would close, only to backtrack and re-open a month later, after they had "settled lease issues." So you never know. Although Veritas did end up closing at the end of 2023.
Boulevardier was ahead of its time in many ways, from settling in Bishop Arts in the very early days of its gentrification to its embrace of old-school French food and especially oysters, now on the menu at many, many Dallas restaurants.
The owners thanked their customers, and referred them to Boulevardier's sibling restaurant Hillside Tavern, which opened in Hillside Village at Mockingbird & Abrams in 2018 (and which won a CultureMap Tastemaker Award in 2022 for Neighborhood Restaurant of the Year), as well as their real estate business.
"Thanks again for the years and years of support," they said. "This has been one of the great rides of our lives, and we could not have done it without each of you. You can still find us at Hillside Tavern, where the HT team is serving up the best #badassbarfood in town and a wide array of adult libations, including a much better wine list than you might ever expect at a neighborhood sports bar."
"We also like to plan culinary and wine tours and then invite our friends to join us! Please follow Veritas Wine Tours on Instagram at @veritas_wine_tours."
"Lastly, Brooks and Bradley are focusing on their law practice with an emphasis on commercial lease work (we’ve operated under a lot of commercial leases over the years!) and as realtors representing business owners in their search for a suitable business location, in addition to residential home transactions."
