Swanky taco and tequila lounge to open at Dallas' Preston Hollow Village
Dallas is about to get more tacos: Chído Taco Lounge, a taqueria that debuted in the Dallas area in 2021, is opening a second location at a prominent address: the Preston Hollow Village Shopping Center at US-75 and Walnut Hill Lane.
According to a release, it'll open in late spring, they're hoping in time for Cinco de Mayo.
Chído, which means “cool” in Spanish, is from Blaine McGowan, who cut his teeth in the hospitality world by hosting fabulous underground ticketed dinner parties in his home.
He made it official when he opened his first restaurant in Frisco, with a goal "to capture a multi-cultural fusion" with a focus on tacos as well as entrees and secret menu items.
Since then, it’s become known for its tacos, beer, and tequilas served in a friendly atmosphere.
The Preston Hollow Village location will be more ambitious, with a two-story space featuring a members-only tequila lounge on the second floor.
They're taking over the former Cinco Taco Bar space at 7949 Walnut Hill Ln. #130, where they'll serve including classic and modern street tacos — everything from chicken tinga and barbacoa to jerk chicken and Korean barbecue — as well as salads, quesadillas, nachos, guacamole and elote.
The bar will feature beer, margaritas, an extensive tequila selection as well as doubling down on agave spirits, with a high-end tequila lounge, which will stock coveted bottles and host exclusive tasting events for members.
In a statement, McGowan says the response to their Frisco operation has been overwhelmingly positive.
"Now we’re excited to expand our operations to Dallas, where we can share our brand of fun-loving food and polished service with a new community of guests,” he says.
