New Dallas steakhouse with NOLA flair will sizzle in Snider Plaza
Dallas' Snider Plaza will soon get a new steakhouse with a little NOLA flair. Called Jack & Harry's, it's the latest concept from the prolific Vandelay Hospitality Group, and it will open at 6833 Snider Plaza, in the former Edible Arrangements space, this fall.
According to a release, Jack & Harry's is inspired by New Orleans with a dash of the South Carolina low country. The menu will be a combination of French-infused recipes with steaks and Southern coastal favorites.
Food
The menu will feature Prime and dry-aged steaks, with spins on the classic steakhouse "filet dinner" - best represented by these two dishes: French onion filet and veal chop topped with fried oysters.
NOLA-themed dishes will include blue crab gumbo, a muffaletta sandwich, and Oysters St. Claude. Coastal seafood will include snapper, flounder, and grouper, pan-fried or broiled.
Sides include coleslaw, sweet & sour collard greens, and paprika hush puppies.
Drink
The bar will be a warm and intimate space with turn-of-the-century character, with Bourbon Street cocktails and a French-forward wine list, which founder Hunter Pond says is a huge passion project.
Atmosphere
The location was built in 1945 and features a 5,000-square-foot space rich in detail and layered in history. There'll be lacquered wood floors, cherrywood paneling, imported New Orleans brick, and antique Charleston lanterns and aged brass, all paying homage to a bygone era of Southern hospitality. Decor will include equestrian artwork and antique furniture.
This is the 23rd restaurant from Vandelay and the sixth in a succession of openings in 2023, most recently following Anchor Sushi Bar.
Jack & Harry’s is also the third concept VHG has planned for Snider Plaza, with New York City import Bar Sardine and Montecito’s, the Italian concept starring chef Kashawn Cruell opening in 2024.
