Frenchy restaurant La Madeleine debuts 2 new Dallas-area locations
Frenchy restaurant chain La Madeleine is expanding in Dallas-Fort Worth with not one but two new cafes opening in November: one in Dallas and one in Prosper.
The Dallas location is in a newly constructed 2,800-square-foot space in the Preston Center Pavilion shopping center at 6109 Berkshire Ln., in an address that used to be Rock & Roll Sushi.
According to a release, the café will officially open on Wednesday, November 8 at 7 am with a grand opening event called Rompre le Pain, “to break the bread,” and a ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon with the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce.
The Prosper location is at 1140 S. Preston Rd #10 inside Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’ development, Gates of Prosper, and will have its grand opening on Wednesday, November 15.
Prosper is a biggie, at nearly 5,000 square feet, featuring indoor and outdoor seating, and will be the first La Madeleine in Prosper.
If you like bread, it's worth your while to show up at the openings: The first 100 guests will receive free bread for one year, and all guests can enjoy a complimentary baguette on opening day, while supplies last.
"Preston Hollow and Prosper are prime locations to give locals a little escape to France with classic pastries and authentic French recipes," says La Madeleine Chief Operating Officer Christine Johnson. “For over 40 years, la Madeleine has been a treasured part of the Dallas-Fort Worth community and we’re grateful for the warm reception of these new locations.” Huh, is Preston Center Preston Hollow?
This represents a return to Preston Center for La Madeleine, which had a location at 8319 Preston Rd. at Berkshire Lane for many. years but which closed in 2015. (Carlo’s Bakery took the space in 2016 but it closed in 2021. It's now a bank.)
Founded in Dallas in 1983, La Madeleine is currently owned by Groupe Le Duff, based in Rennes, France, and operates more than 86 corporate and franchise locations in nine states.
The Prosper location is from franchisee Dan Rizvi, who is opening his fourth cafe.
“As someone who has been a loyal customer of the la Madeleine brand long before becoming a franchisee, I believe that Prosper residents will embrace having this beloved North Texan concept as their new dining option, which offers authentic French cuisine along with our signature personalized service,” Rizvi says.
The cafés are open daily from 7 am–9 pm. All-day breakfast options, sandwiches, soups, salads – including la Madeleine’s Original Caesar Salad and signature Tomato Basil soup – plus entrées and traditional French bakery and retail items are all available for dine-in, to-go and delivery.
