Leela's Wine Bar reopens on Dallas' Greenville Ave with more food and space
A wine bar on Dallas' Greenville Avenue is reopening with a new set of updates: Leela’s Wine Bar, a neighborhood wine and pizza spot with eco-friendly wines on tap, has reopened its location at 1914 Greenville Ave. with a revamped space and menu.
The restaurant had been closed since July. It's now open for happy hour, dinner, and all day on weekends.
According to a release, it's now much bigger, with capacity for 114 oer its previous capacity of 79.
An accompanying cocktail lounge upstairs called Milli has tripled capacity to 161 versus the previous 49.
In addition to the revamp of the space, the menu has been expanded with a wider variety of wine, more appetizer options, and Roman-style pizzas, which were added to their menu in spring 2023.
Roman-style pizzas are distinguished by their thin crust, and were inspired by a pizza that Pope and co-owner Sameer Patel had in Manhattan, one of those fancy "research" trips that restaurateur players like to do, maybe. But their recipe was created by acclaimed Dallas pizza consultant Lee Hunziger, and that is all you really have to know, because Lee knows his dough.
New items include:
- Dip Trio with hummus, boursin, and pimento
- Spinach Dip served with crostinis
- Buffalo Chicken Pizza - buffalo sauce, chicken, chives and topped with ranch
- Fig & Prosciutto - bechamel, fig jam, prosciutto, and arugula
- Hot Honey - spicy marinara, pepperoni, jalapeños, and hot honey drizzle
The location will also now stay open until 2 am on Friday and Saturdays.
Leela's has had its share of reconcepting since it was first founded by Patel in 2018 as a restaurant called Leela's Raw Bar. Patel subsequently partnered with Pope and they've since opened locations in Uptown and Trophy Club.
