Dallas chef-driven restaurant opens 2023 with debut on Greenville Ave
In one of the first Dallas restaurant openings of 2023, welcome Quarter Acre, the new Lower Greenville spot from chef Toby Archibald, which opened quietly over the weekend at 2023 Greenville Ave. #110.
According to a release, the menu features contemporary global cuisine inspired by Archibald's world travels and New Zealand roots, with an emphasis on local produce as well as national and international ingredients such as seafood and wine from New Zealand and Australia.
Archibald has been in Dallas since 2016, when he served as Chef de Cuisine of Bullion, then Executive Chef of Georgie by Curtis Stone.
Menu highlights at Quarter Acre include:
- Smoked Beef Tartare
- Kingfish Ceviche
- Roasted Celeriac with raisin, hazelnut, celery salad
- Clams and grilled bread
- 48 hour Beef Short Rib
- Parmesan-buttered Grouper
- Ricotta Gnudi
- Charred Carrot with spiced yogurt, maple gastrique
- Chicken with teriyaki sunchoke
Desserts include Chocolate Torte with whiskey ice cream, Grapefruit Cremeux, Tropical Mille Feuille andSticky Toffee Pudding with sour cream ice cream, dates, and rum.
The beverage program by Jacob Fergus features a small, focused wine list with wines from the Southern Hemisphere, as well as European, American, and Texas wines.
The 2,300-square-foot restaurant seats 65 with a patio seating 20 that will open in the spring. Decor is designed to give a sense of the South Pacific under the concept of a Jewel Box, with dining pods inspired by the craftsmanship of woven fishing traps.
They'll be open for dinner Tuesday-Saturday.
In a statement, Archibald says that "courtesy, civility, and liveliness will be the focal point," and that his goal is to "bring people together through my food, whether it’s for a special occasion or just a regular evening out. When you boil it down, I just love to cook and make people happy.”
