Those Darling Debs
Dallas Symphony debs begin Presentation Ball journey with party-filled weekend
A new group of 40 fresh-faced debutantes returned from college just in time for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League’s announcement weekend, held at Neiman Marcus Downtown. This marked the official start of a nine-month journey that culminates with the 29th Presentation Ball.
During Friday night’s welcoming cocktail party, ball chair Venise Stuart and DSOL president Dixie Marshall greeted the debs and their families one by one. This was a wonderful opportunity for new debs, Presentation Ball honor guard and Dallas Symphony Assembly members, and past debs to catch up and, in some cases, get to know each other.
On Saturday, it was back to the iconic department store for a brunch and fashion show, featuring gowns by Project Runway designer Austin Scarlett, who was in attendance. In October 2012, Scarlett released his signature collection of wedding and evening dresses, available at Neiman Marcus and other luxury retailers around the world.
Interested eyes scanned each and every gown, with the Presentation Ball most certainly in mind. Speaking of, the event is set for February 7, 2015, at the Meyerson Symphony Center.
