A-list athletes take a swing at TopGolf The Colony grand opening
The Colony may have been the last place in Dallas-Fort Worth you’d expect to find a star-studded affair. But TopGolf brought its A-game for the grand opening of its newest location, luring some of the most noteworthy names in Dallas sports.
Joining Hall of Famer Troy Aikman were Dallas Cowboys Tony Romo and Bradie James; Dallas Stars Jordie Benn, Tyler Sequin, Brenden Dillon and Cody Eakin; and Texas Ranger Ian Kinsler. None of these guys could wait to take a swing at the new facility.
A few PGA golfers, like Hunter Mahan and Colt Knost, also came out show the other attendees how it’s done. Other noteworthy guests included Charlotte Jones Anderson and Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings.
Tireless DJ Lucy Wrubel spun the tunes while golf enthusiasts watched the live art demonstration from Red Bull’s Canvas Cooler Project. The evening’s emcee was Billy the Kidd from 106.1 KISS-FM who got a little help from Lili from 102.9 NOW.
TopGolf The Colony opened to the public November 4 with 102 climate-controlled hitting bays, a full-service restaurant and bar, more than 225 high-definition flat-screen TVs, a rooftop terrace with stage, and 3,000 square feet of private event space.
TopGolf expects to serve more than 400,000 visitors in its first year of operation in The Colony. Now that’s a lot of golf, beer and chicken wings.
