Hottest wedding songs of 2017 keep DJs busy and dance floors packed
Some people say music makes the world go 'round. Others say music is to the soul what words are to the mind. It should come as no surprise then that music plays such a key part in one of the most important days of your life: your wedding.
Recently, via its Insights blog, digital music service Spotify shared the top 1,000 songs added to user wedding playlists, from the company's inception in 2008 to fall 2017. Can you guess which song ranked No. 1?
Here are the top 10 most popular wedding songs in the U.S.:
Spotify users really love Bruno Mars. The Grammy Award-winning star pops up again in the No. 4 spot with the song “Uptown Funk” with Mark Ronson. Mars' songs “Just the Way You Are” (46th), “Treasure” (65th), and “Locked Out of Heaven” (89th) also cracked the top 100.
But that's not all. Spotify also treated us to a roster of the top wedding songs in each state.
It may not come as a surprise that Texas’ top choice is a country song: "She's Like Texas" by Josh Abbott Band.
California knows how to party, making “California Love” by Tupac Shakur No. 1. And it's no surprise that native New Jersey superstar Bruce Springsteen's “Born to Run” comes in first in The Garden State.
Spotting a trend, several songs are the most popular in more than one state, including “Would You Go With Me” by Josh Turner, No. 1 in both Alaska and Colorado.
“Wop” by J. Dash is tops in Alabama, Georgia, and Louisiana.
Wedding staple “Electric Slide” by Electric Slide is a hit in Indiana, Kentucky, and North Carolina.
Folks in Michigan, Oregon, Virginia, and Washington State really like “Get Low” by the Ying Yang Twins.
