Chic socialites and badass beauties come together for Hotel ZaZa 10th anniversary blowout
Fabulous doesn’t even begin to describe the Hotel ZaZa 10th anniversary party. And we aren’t just talking about the oodles of bejeweled and begowned beauties. But did we really expect anything less from the city’s sexiest Uptown address?
ZaZa execs Charlie Givens, Benji Homsey and Matthew Nuss welcomed a truly eclectic crowd — socialites, A-listers, industry veterans, nightlife mavens — who sipped and sashayed their way around the hotel, which flickered with candlelight and buzzed with excitement. Veuve Cliquot flowed while old and new friends exchanged hugs and air kisses. To counter the cocktails, waiters passed smoked salmon-wrapped deviled eggs, micro tuna tacos, micro rock shrimp corn dogs and braised Wagu ravioli.
Revelers packed onto the dance floor in the tented pool area, where DJ Lucy Wrubel was doing what she does best — spinning an energetic mix of music, from “Hey, Mickey” to “Gangnam Style.” Meanwhile, Mr. Best had his own thing going in the ballroom. Behind him, life-sized Blue Brothers figures peered through the window at partygoers as they cruised down the hallway.
There was more entertainment in the lobby, in the form of a tarot card reader and a purple body suit-clad contortionist, who bent her body in unexpected ways while perched on a pedestal just beyond the main doors. In the ballroom, celebrants got their pics snapped in the photo booth.
Guests — including Lynn and Alan McBee, Jackson, Ken Maxwell, Jim Williamson, Barbara and Don Daseke, Dee Lincoln, Kellie Rasberry, Faisal Halum, Steve Wrubel, Brooke Hortenstine, Tracy and Josh Madans, and Brady Wood — came in and out of Dragonfly, where groups of guys were enjoying the eye candy.
“Dude, you’ve got to get to ZaZa. It’s f---ing sick,” we overheard one of them say into his smartphone.
We don’t know if that guy ever made it, but if he didn’t, he missed a hell of a party.
