The Fun in Fundraising
Playboy Playmates and whiskey lovers mix it up for boozy fundraiser benefitingU.S. troops
What's better than booze, Playboy models, football and patriotism? Not much. That's why Crown Royal and Playboy teamed up for a Cowboys watch party and military fundraiser at Sfuzzi in Uptown.
With February 2011 Playmate Kylie Johnson (whom we will not link to) playing host, guests watched the Cowboys beat the Pittsburg Steelers in overtime while also raising money and making care packages for overseas servicemen and women. The care packages, part of Crown Royal Heroes Project, included purple camouflage Crown Royal bags.
The event also raised $5,000 for local charity Defenders of Freedom, which helps troops abroad and returning. The nonprofit also assists families of wounded soldiers.
Whiskey master Stephen Wilson led a toast at halftime with Crown’s new maple finished whiskey. Sfuzzi also unveiled a new cocktail called the Manitoba, made with maple whiskey, lemon juice and simple syrup topped with ginger beer and garnished with a lemon wedge.
Partygoers included Christine Roberts, Nicole Kelly, Paul Chokate, Chris Jones, Genevieve Barneau, Nate Courville, Sarah Johnson and Adam Evers. Oh, and the Cowboys won, which means that our hearts are due to be ripped out in no more than two weeks.
