It's a Love Match
Virgin America really wants to rule Dallas Love Field with 2-for-1 travel deal
As part of its “All Fares Being Equal, Awesome Wins” campaign, Virgin America is offering two-for-one flights out of Dallas Love Field, and all you have to do is give them three friends’ email addresses. Don’t worry, though. Your friends will get something too.
For flyers looking to save on a flight, they can go to the campaign’s site and figure out three friends or family members that like to fly places and invite them to join Virgin’s loyalty program. Virgin will then send the invitation sender a two-for-one offer on a Virgin flight to or from Love Field. Those three people who just had their emails given to a corporation will receive an up-to-20 percent discount code for their next Love Field Virgin flight.
But, of course, there’s fine print, according to the release. The two-for-one is 50 percent off of the base fare “of itineraries of exactly two guests.” The 20 percent is only if you travel on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday; it’s “a 10 percent discount off the base fare for travel Monday, Thursday and Friday for itineraries of up to two guests.”
The flights can only be nonstop travel between April 7 and June 6, 2015, and the ticket must be purchased at least 14 days in advance. There’s absolutely no Sunday travel, and there are blackouts on May 22 and 25. No first-class either.
The promotion runs through April 8 at 11:59 pm PDT. The airline also promises to match a lower fare out of Dallas Love Field — aka Southwest’s — for travel through April 30.
Virgin America currently operates 13 daily departures from Dallas Love Field, increasing to 19 on April 28, when it begins service from Love Field to Austin-Bergstrom International and adds a fourth daily return service to LAX.
