American Airlines adds new international routes out of DFW Airport

Fort Worth-based American Airlines has new international routes for summer 2026 including Athens and Milan. According to a release, American Airlines has six new routes to Europe and South America including new service to Prague and the only nonstop service from the U.S. to Budapest, Hungary.
The airline will also add new routes to Athens, Milan, and Zurich, while expanding service in summer to Buenos Aires; plus premium service to Tokyo.
Tickets will be available for purchase on these summer 2026 routes starting August 11 at aa.com or through American’s mobile app.
New flights out of Dallas Fort Worth include:
- Athens, Greece (ATH). Summer seasonal service starts May 21, 2026 on a Boeing 787-8
- Buenos Aires, Argentina (EZE). Extended service from May 21 to August 3, 2026 on a Boeing 787-8
- Zurich (ZRH) Summer seasonal service from May 21 to August 4, 2026 on a Boeing 777-200
In March 2026, American will launch daily service from Miami to Milan, providing the only nonstop link connecting the two cities. American is Miami’s largest airline. This new service will complement flights to Rome that began in summer 2025.
Soccer
Special for global soccer fans, American will launch limited-time service between DFW and Zurich and offer expanded summer service from DFW and Miami to Buenos Aires. Flights from Argentina and Switzerland will connect soccer fans to Dallas-Fort Worth for the world’s premier sporting event.
Tokyo
Travelers headed to Tokyo next summer will get increased premium cabin offerings, with increased premium seating capacity to Tokyo (HND) from DFW and Los Angeles (LAX) by more than 45 percent.
- Dallas Fort Worth ⇄ Tokyo Haneda (HND) Daily service begins March 29, 2026. Boeing 777-300.
- Los Angeles (LAX) ⇄ Tokyo Haneda (HND) Twice-daily service begins March 29, 2026. Boeing 777-200.
